But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

It is true that none in existence today was present when the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ happened. Nevertheless, the undeniable Truth is that the Evidence of that Sacrifice is present today and always, just at the mention of His name by those who believe in Him and live in Him.

A witness is someone that has seen something take place and is there to tell of all that he saw, heard, and experienced. Likewise, as Christians, we are called to be witnesses for Christ who present a testimony about the truth that we have experienced and heard as seen in John 1:34.

The witnessing is not only in words but also in deeds. Your lifestyle should testify to the fact that you are a chosen generation redeemed, set apart, sanctified, and living in the light as stated in 1 Peter 2:9.

Remember, as a witness, it is not your job to save people (that’s God’s job!), but to share all that you have experienced. So, as you seek to share, do so with a heart of prayer for those you are sharing with and for your words to be guided by the Holy Spirit. Ask God to work through you both in words and deeds, and to do His work in the hearts of those around you. Pray diligently and depend fully on the work of the Spirit as you faithfully share your testimony.

Our witnessing must be Christ- centered. The focus should not be about self to showoff how powerful we are or share our own thoughts and opinions, but everything we share must be rooted in the Word of God. It is through hearing the Word of God that people are saved as revealed in Isaiah 55:10-11. In addition, Romans 10:17 makes it clear that faith comes from hearing, and hearing the Word of Christ.

In order for one to witness effectively for Christ, you must be filled with the Holy Spirit, and also witness in words and your actions. Witnessing for Christ is all encompassing of our entire lifestyle.

We are called to follow Him as stated in Matthew 4:19 and should also walk in a manner worthy of the calling He has given us as advised in Colossians 1:10, being representatives of God in His mercy, grace, and forgiveness as instructed in 1 Peter 2:9-10 and be prepared to tell of the hope we have in Him as stated in 1Peter 3:15-16.

Beloved, our anchor scripture says that you shall receive power when the Spirit comes upon you. The power that the Spirit will deposit in us is for a purpose and to be used in places, where our feet are meant to leave the remarkable prints that can never be erased even after we return to our Creator.

When the outpouring takes place, will you be ready to move in the unwavering strides of the Spirit until every State in Nigeria and the world is reclaimed for the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? Bear in mind that timidly will no longer be excused.

Finally, we must know that the enabling power that has been assured is not for the ‘pocket ministry or stomach ministry’, but it must be used solely to witness for Jesus Christ in our families, communities, neighborhoods, Nation and the world.

**The goal of witnessing is the salvation of others, not just the dissemination of (gospel) information.

**Witnessing for Christ is a very personal thing because you have to know and experience Him before you can share to others.

**Witnessing is accompanied by the witness of the Spirit.

**Lord make me an effective witness in words and deeds.

** I pray that l may know Him and the power of His resurrection.
