TEXT: 2 TIM. 4:7-8

Everyone on earth was created to accomplish something in creation without which it wouldn’t have been necessary for him to exist. In other words, if there was no purpose for creation, existence would be for nothing. At the point of creation, God saw that everything He created, including man, was good for the purpose of contributing, or adding value, to creation (Gen. 1:27-28). However, the Spirit of God, Whose mandate is to empower procreation and recreation/beautification, was merely hovering over creation. The Holy Spirit who energizes all things to be done came down from Heaven to empower man with different tongues and abilities so that the inherent potential of man could be made manifest. Once the Spirit of God is in a man, an assignment has summarily been given which must not only be done but also finished for the purpose of accountability and rewards (Acts 2:3-4; 1 Cor. 12:3-11).

St. Paul, in our anchor Scripture, emphatically and confidently expressed his position on the assignment given to him by the Lord during his encounter which he also finished well. In his words, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have long for his appearing” (2 Tim. 4:7-8).

Accomplishing one’s purpose of creation is a good fight of faith, and finishing well ranks higher, if reward is to be justified (1 Cor. 9:24). Doing the works of our Ministry as differently assigned needs diligence and discipline, training, determination to succeed, and patience to keep the faith. Make it a point of duty to do the work willingly as when serving God and not any earthly master.

Fellow believers, like a football striker at the post of success, you must be skillful, careful and purposeful as the devil and his agents must resist your determination to finish the race. Therefore, be conscious of the provisions of 2 Timothy 3:12 which envisaged persecution for the followers of Christ but wearing the belt of truth, shield of faith, breastplate of righteousness, helmet of salvation, shoes to preach the gospel of peace, and the sword of the Spirit would assist your determination to finish well. The heavenly store is filled with rewards for only the finishers of faith to the exclusion of those who would give excuses for their inabilities and prohibitive circumstances. Samson could not finish well because of lust, but Jesus Christ finished well, so also were Joseph, Daniel, Shedrack and his allies, Paul, Peter, and all the faithful Patriarchs. By God’s grace, you and I would not be disqualified after calling many into the faith in Jesus Name Amen.

**Are you aware that the Holy Spirit who gave you your Ministry at Pentecost has also supplied all the grace and abilities to finish well and strong?

**Do you know that it is only the good fight of faith that keeps you focused to accomplish the tasks of that Ministry, lest the devil diverts your attention in life?

**Father, may Your grace be sufficient for me to accomplish the task of my ministerial calling in Jesus name.

**Precious Holy Spirit, assist me to remain consistent in the fight to finish my assignment on earth in Jesus name.

Remember, Oh Most Gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implore thy help or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother, to thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Oh Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petition but in thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.
