DAILY MEDITATION

TOPIC: FIGHTING WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS
TEXT: Prov. 28:1; Eph 6:14:
(Proverbs 28:1) The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
(Ephesians 6:14) Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
Righteousness is a free gift that is imputed upon those who believe and accept into their hearts, God’s beloved Son Jesus Christ as their Lord, and have confessed Him as their personal Savior. It means to be free from the guilt of sin and all its consequences. The scripture testifies that no one is righteous before God, for our righteousness is as a filthy rags before the holy presence of God (Isaiah 64:6). It is by grace and through faith in the finished works of Christ that we receive God’s free gift of righteousness (Rom. 3:22 – 24).
However, we are commanded to be holy because our GOD is holy (1Peter 1:16). The imputed righteousness is a free gift from Christ which we all received when we accepted Him but we are required to grow in righteousness daily as a proof of our new nature. We cannot claim that we are righteous as a result of the free gift of Christ and yet live like unbelievers. If actually our old nature is dead and Christ now lives in us, then the evidence should be a life of righteousness because Christ cannot lie, cheat, fornicate, steal, kill, etc.
To be able to overcome the enemy, righteousness is listed as one of the amour; not just any kind of amour, but comparable to a breastplate. Actually a breastplate is worn by soldiers to protect the heart from injury or death during war/battle. This is a secret revealed on how we can protect our hearts and indeed our lives as children of GOD, from the fiery arrows of the enemy. If you want your heart which is the seat of your life in accordance with Proverbs 4:23, to be safe from the fiery darts of the enemy, employ righteousness as a weapon to defeat the evil one. Our anchor scripture says the righteous is as bold as a lion; that means by living the life of righteousness, the enemy will flee from us just as all other animals flee from the lion.
Beloved brethren, righteousness is a great weapon which we can use to continuously defeat the enemy at home, in business, work place, neighborhood, and the society at large. It is not an option but a command. Our life of righteousness is the only way to prove that Christ is now the one living inside of us. May the Holy Spirit help us to live a life of righteousness daily in Jesus name.
MEDITATION
• Do you know that with righteousness as a free gift of Christ, you will remain triumphant over the devil and his cohorts?
• Do you also know that walking in the consciousness of Christ’s righteousness will make you bold and courageous as a believer?
PRAYER POINTS
• Father, thank You for the free gift of Christ’s righteousness which we have received by faith in His finished works on the cross.
• I decree that I stand victorious over the viles and arrows of the devil through the free gift of Christ’s righteousness that I have received.
• I receive the grace to live out my true nature of righteousness daily in Jesus name
